Buy boxes
Saved searches that filter properties and drive your match notifications.
Buy boxes
A buy box is a saved search — price range, beds and baths, square footage, year built, property types, and the locations you buy in (or want carved out). Open My Buy Boxes from the top navigation to see yours. The link only appears when your organization has buy boxes enabled and you're signed in.
A buy box never limits what you can browse — the full catalog stays available in Properties either way. It does two things:
- Filters: each card links to the currently listed properties that match it.
- Notifies: it emails you about new matches, on the schedule you choose.
Your own buy boxes vs. shared ones
- Your own boxes — ones you created, or ones your account team set up just for you — are fully yours: edit anything (locations included), pause, rename, or delete them whenever you like.
- Shared boxes (marked with a Shared badge) are maintained by your account team for a group of investors. You can't edit or delete a shared box, but its notification settings are still yours: turn its emails on or off and pick your frequency without affecting anyone else.
Creating a buy box
Click New buy box on the My Buy Boxes page. Give it a name, set any criteria you care about (blank means "no limit"), add location rules, and pick your notification schedule. Price and square-footage fields format with thousands separators as you type; property types left all unchecked match every type.
A buy box needs at least one criterion or an included location — an empty box would match nothing.
Email notifications
Every buy box has its own notification settings, right on the card:
- Email switch — on or off per box.
- Frequency — Instant (an email the moment a property matches), Daily (one digest each morning), or Weekly (one digest each week).
These are always your choice, on shared boxes too.
Markets and locations
On your own boxes, location rules are yours to edit: add an included or excluded
state, county, city, or 5-digit ZIP from the edit page (for example 78704, TX,
or Austin, Travis County, TX). The most specific matching rule wins, and at equal
specificity an exclusion beats an inclusion. On shared boxes, locations are managed
by your account team.
Deleting a buy box
Open Edit on one of your own boxes and choose Delete. Its notifications stop and the box is gone for good — deleting a buy box never hides any properties, since buy boxes don't limit what you can browse. Shared boxes can only be removed by your account team.
Seeing no matches?
If a buy box shows no matching properties, its criteria may simply be narrow — a box only matches properties that pass every criterion it sets. Widen a range or a location rule and save. New listings that match are picked up automatically, and your Properties page always shows the full catalog regardless of your buy boxes.
